Brand ingredients are visual design elements used to signal our brand.

The Vertical Bar

The vertical bar is a variable brand element and has many use cases, but a few rules apply to all use cases:

Bar aligns with text height when being used with two or more lines of text. For single lines of text, the bar is 1.75x the height of the text.

Vertical bar is always the same width when used with type.

Do not use multiple vertical bars in succession.

Image Tags

Image Tags are caption blocks that give context to a photo. They exist within or outside of a photo.

The Grid | Primary Graphic Element: Color Blocks

As an extension of our visual language, enlarged croppings of the logo can be used when creating a composition.

Base Unit
Our base unit is half of the Flatiron symbol, flipped vertically. Color blocks exist within the grid, cropped according to the media. Never separate the Flatiron symbol as individual elements or use the symbol alone as a graphic element.

The Grid | Secondary Graphic Element: Dot Pattern

As an extension of our visual language, enlarged croppings of the dot pattern can be used when creating a composition.

Base Unit
Our base unit is half of the Flatiron symbol, flipped vertically. Color blocks exist within the grid, cropped according to the media.
